Last Sunday I packed my son’s diaper bag, we loaded up in the car and went to my parent’s house. I left my husband of almost 4 years with our 2-month-old son.
I hadn’t seen my husband very much for the past week and he didn’t come home until 3 am that Sunday morning.
It isn’t what you think though. I left my husband to give him some time to himself.
He had been working long hours for the past week and didn’t come home until 3 am because he was at work. He works so hard to provide for our family so the least I could do was give him some alone time to do whatever he wanted. He didn’t have to worry about getting bugged by me or our son for the few hours we were gone.
“Give him some space and he will appreciate you for it” – Matthew Coast
People always talk about moms needing breaks but what about the dads? They may not deal with the children all day, every day but they do have their stresses along with their own limits.
Giving your husband some time to himself, even if just for an hour, will help him out. It shows them that you see and appreciate all that they do.
Actions speak louder than words, so if you love your husband sometimes you just need to leave.
